Just Like My Dad!

I was trying to rush around and get ready the other morning and Isaiah had had enough of his "Jumperoo" so I decided to have him watch a few minutes of Praise Baby while I finished up. For those of you who have ever been in the same room as my husband while he watches TV, this might look a bit familiar to you!

In the zone!

This is such a great show!

Mom, quit taking pictures! I am trying to watch my video! (What's up with this pose??:)

More Cereal and Play Time!!!

Here are some more pictures of Isaiah! Cereal continues to go pretty well. We have thickened it up a bit and he does prefer it more "watery" but he's doing well with it! He's such a happy boy!

I got some really good shots during his play time today!

He's constantly got something in his mouth! If it's not a toy, it's his hands. If it's not his hands, it's my hair. If it's not my hair, it's his shirt. Etc...
What mom??? I'm playing!
Sitting up playing with one of his favorite toys!

CEREAL!!!

So, picture this...
Baby in high chair wearing a bib. Mommy with bowl and spoon. Daddy with video camera in one hand and digital camera in the other! We were prepared for Isaiah's very first experience with cereal. We were also expecting the worst. We totally thought Isaiah would spit it out and scream and throw a fit. I mean, the child has ONLY had breast milk since the day he was born. Nothing else!!! SO...
we were expecting a disaster.
BUT...
he totally surprised us! The first cereal experience was a complete success! He actually seemed to enjoy it and was opening his mouth for more! He did great with the spoon! He looked just like a little baby bird begging for more! I don't think you could have seen two more happy and pleased parents last night! Our sweet baby boy had his first taste of solids and LOVED it! The only challenging part was keeping his hands from wandering into the bowl or trying to grab the spoon. Other than that, he ate like a champ and finished every last drop! We are hoping and praying this means he will be a great eater with a curious palate, willing to try new and exciting foods!

Momma holding his hands down!

Check out that cute face covered in cereal!

More momma, more!
YUM!
I love it!
MMMM!!!! SO tasty!

Pictures

Before the holidays, our little family went to get our pictures taken. We used those pictures as our Christmas gifts to our parents and siblings. As far as we could tell, everyone really enjoyed them so we were pleased about that! We went to Brand Photo & Design, which is located downtown Indy. We were just tickled with their work so I wanted to share a few of our favorites!

Isaiah did such a fantastic job while we were there. I was so worried about him being awake and in a good mood and he exceeded my expectations! But, as you can see in this last picture, the photo shoot left him tuckered out! What a precious little angel!

Thank you Dan and Brooke for a job very well done!!!

Santa and Lilly

OK, I promise this will be my last post today! Isaiah's Grandpa Du has a beautiful Santa outfit that he wears every year. We thought it would be a fun tradition to get a picture with Isaiah and Grandpa Du/Santa each year to compare! So, here are a couple from this year!

As you can see, Isaiah is very happy and really enjoys being with Santa!
After a few indoor shots, we decided to get Isaiah bundled up for a few shots outside. It could not have been more perfect weather outside for the occasion! There was fresh snow on the ground AND it was snowing! It was so very cold so we did not stay out there too long but it seemed only appropriate to get a few pictures!!!

And Isaiah with Santa by the snow covered trees!

And on to some baby news!!!! Lilly Elizabeth Sommer was born on Sunday, December 30, 2007 at 1:12 p.m. Her mommy, Ashley did such a fantastic job and Lilly is quite the beauty!!! For those of you who don't know John and Ashley, they both have blonde hair so to the surprise of EVERYONE, Lilly arrived with the most gorgeous head of thick, black hair! It was so neat for Eric and I to see Lilly and love on her. She was 6 pounds, 7 ounces when she was born and she went home at 6 pounds, 1 ounce. When Isaiah was born, he was 6 pounds, 6 ounces and went home at 6 pounds even. It gave us a chance to reminisce about the day we brought our precious boy home just 5 months ago! John, Ashley, and Lilly, we love all three of you and we are so excited for you as you start this amazingly exciting journey!!!

Christmas #3

Our third and final Christmas celebration took place in Muncie at my sister and brother-in-law's house. This is their very first house and they had it decorated so beautifully! We sure had a great time! We also spent New Year's Eve there and celebrated together with games and food! I almost didn't make it to the New Year! I have stayed up way too late during all of our celebrations and I'm beginning to pay for it! I DID make it though and we had a fun time ringing in the New Year!
More presents for Isaiah!!!

Isaiah smiling with Mimi!

He LOVED the tree! He is fascinated with lights!

He also became very interested in Derby this weekend! It was pretty cute to watch him reach out to touch him. He has begun reaching for everything!

We also played a lot of Wii this weekend! Our favorites are doubles tennis, bowling and the guys are obsessed with golf!

Here is our precious boy, clearly all tuckered out! What a blessing he was to us in 2007...definitely our favorite gift! We know he will continue to bless us in 2008 and for the rest of our lives! We want to give a huge thank you to all of our family! We had such a fantastic time celebrating with each and every one of you and truly missed our family that we didn't get to see. We love you all!!!

Christmas #2

First of all, Happy New Year!!! Our second Christmas celebration took place in Columbia City with Eric's dad, step-mom, and siblings and families! We had a great time with presents, games, and lots of great food! We let the "little ones" do presents first after dinner and then the adults got to play a "Wheel of Fortune" type of game to earn their presents! It was so much fun and Jim and Kathy were so creative! Thank you for a fantastic Christmas, Heuer Family!

This was the first time Isaiah had met his Aunt Annie, and he LOVED her! She lives in Portland and traveled home for the holidays! We love Auntie Annie and enjoy every time we get to spend with her! We love you all and had a wonderful Christmas celebration!!!
