Doggy Day Care

First of all, I'll let everyone know that Isaiah is doing much better! Today was the first day I actually didn't have to constantly wipe his nose! And he's hardly coughing anymore too so that's great! We are still doing the antibiotics and still doing the breathing treatments three times a day but they are paying off because he is doing well! Thank the Lord! I just don't know if there's anything worse than a sick baby! Thank you all for your concern and prayers for our little man!

OK, I do realize that I will probably offend some of you, totally disgust some of you and hopefully make some of you smile! For those of you with pets and children in your home, I am hoping you can relate to this post! When Eric and I were first married, we got Derby, our wonderful Golden Retriever! He has been so much fun and such a source of joy to us! Our precious little Isaiah has fallen in love with Derby and I have captured some very cute play time pictures of the two of them! Often times Isaiah will sit captivated by his doggy! It's the cutest thing to see his face light up whenever Derby is near by! And just for the record for those of you who are disgusted by these pictures, we do wash Isaiah's hands and face thoroughly after Derby has shown him some affection! :)

And here is a video of my two little guys playing together!!!

A sick baby...

Last Wednesday morning, both Isaiah and I woke up feeling pretty under the weather. Isaiah's sickness started out as a cough and eventually he also got a runny nose. The cough got worse as the days went on and the nose just would not stop running. There were moments that I thought he was getting better but then he would just act really run down. He had been around another baby with a cold and we were pretty sure it was viral and just had to run its course. Well, on Sunday night, he coughed in his sleep for over two hours and that was the final straw. At that point, I knew it wasn't getting any better so I decided to take him in to see our awesome doctor. So, on Monday, Isaiah and I paid a visit to the wonderful Dr. Gollnick! She listened to his chest and said he has bronchiolitis. So, she sent in a nurse with a machine to do a breathing treatment. He was not a huge fan of that and it was a bit difficult for me to hold a squirming baby in my lap and an oxygen mask at the same time, but we made it! Dr. Gollnick came back in and listened to his chest again. She said the breathing treatment really opened up his lungs BUT...he also has pneumonia. Oh my goodness, my baby has pneumonia! I couldn't believe it! So, she put him on antibiotics and sent us home with a breathing machine. We have to do these treatments three times a day. The one right before bed is the one that goes the best. The one first thing in the morning is probably the most rough because he's hungry! Anyway, we are both feeling better and hope we never get this junk again! Because of his stuffy, runny nose, it has been a challenge for him to nurse but we're obviously doing an ok job because he did weigh in at 17 pounds! Must be the cereal and veggies, too!

Look at those little sick eyes!

Daddy is so sad about the breathing treatments

And here is a video of Isaiah in the exersaucer! He loves that thing! He had been talking up a storm before I turned on the camera and then of course he stopped! He is chewing on EVERYTHING!

Busy Weekend

The Heuer family has had one busy weekend! It all started on Thursday evening when Grandma Kathy came to visit! She had been staying with cousins Kate and Nick while their mommy and daddy worked and on her way back up north, she stopped by to see US! Isaiah loved his time playing with her and wished his Grandpa Jim had been there too!

Not long after Grandma Kathy left, our great friends John, Ashley, and Lilly Sommer arrived! John and Eric work together and John came down to help out with the Indianapolis Home Show. They stayed with us Thursday and Friday nights and we had a blast hanging out!

Isaiah and Lilly aren't aware of it yet, but an arrangement for their marriage has already been made! :)
Isaiah just couldn't keep his hands off of Lilly! He really wanted her bow!

What a precious baby girl!

On Sunday evening, we got together with our great friends Travis, Lisa, and Caleb Taflinger and Casey Cline to watch the Super Bowl! What a fun time our babies had together! It was so fun to see each other since it had been almost two months and our boys had changed so much!
Here they are wrestling on the floor together!
Here are the daddies and their boys! Caleb was very fascinated with Eric's face!

And here they are comparing legs! We're considering purchasing a thigh master for our son!

What a wonderfully busy weekend it was! We love all of our friends dearly and cherish the time we get to spend with them!
