18 Months

Here are a few pictures of our EIGHTEEN MONTH little boy!  It is just unbelievable HOW FAST time flies.  I cannot believe I have a year and a half old toddler!  CRAZY!!!!!!

Oh how I love that face
Smiling and playing with blocks!
Doing puzzles with daddy!
And here is our boy waiting for the doctor!  Our appointment today went great!  Isaiah is 26 pounds, 1 ounce (50%) and 33 inches long (60%).  His little head is still in the 25% but that's ok...daddy has a little head too! :)  Everything checked out great and the doctor said he's right on track.  He said he has pretty lungs and heart and he was two for two with good ears!  He said Isaiah was a good eater, talker, sleeper and pooper!  I guess it doesn't get better than that when you are 18 months old!  In all seriousness, though, he was impressed with how well-behaved Isaiah was and thought he was a great, well-rounded little boy!
We had to wait for a while but Isaiah sure did have fun! :)
Yesterday, on Isaiah's actual 18 month birthday, Eric and I sang Happy Birthday to him and when we were finished, Isaiah got the BIGGEST smile on his face and started clapping!  He loved that we were singing to him!

Isaiah, your mommy and daddy love you so much and feel so very blessed that Jesus chose them to raise you and love you!  You have filled our lives and our hearts with so much joy we can't find the words to describe it!  You are the bestest boy two parents could ask to have and we are so proud of who you are becoming!  Our prayer for you is that you continue to grow, learn and develop the way God intended you to and that you would become a man who LOVES the LORD with all your heart, soul, mind and strength!  We adore you and love you to the moon and back infinity times!

Finally.....pictures....

Well, I finally found our charger so I can get some pictures on here!  So much to share!!!

Isaiah is awesome!  He is growing and changing so much everyday!  He is at a stage right now where he is repeating everything we say, even if we aren't trying to get him to say it! :)  He is a little talking machine and we are getting the biggest kick out of him.  I could never put on here all that he is saying because it is so much!  Some of the cutest things are the ones that don't come out just quite right!

One of his favorite times is still bath time!  Here he is right after his bath tonight!

He loves to make baskets in the tub with his little hoop and basketballs and he loves playing with his bath markers!  During a bath a couple days ago, I drew some things on the wall and one of them was a basketball.  Tonight, when he got into the tub, he pointed to the basketball I had drawn and said, "ba-i-ball".  It wasn't prompted at all and it was oh-so-cute!

He has also grown to enjoy brushing his teeth.  Getting the bottom ones are a bit easier than the top teeth.  When we try to brush the top, he prefers to suck on the toothbrush!  But, he does look forward to that time after his bath!
He now has two molars that have broken the skin and I know the other two are right behind!
Here are some fresh belly pics.  Two days short of 27 weeks.
Isaiah was wanting to give his baby brother some kisses tonight....
And some hugs!
Isaiah has had a huge increase in his appetite lately.  We have literally had to cut him off a couple times because we didn't want him to get sick!  He is just growing so quickly and it's crazy to think in three short months, we will have another precious boy!
He has also gotten the hang of a few signs.  Here he is telling mommy he wants "more" books!  He's also pretty consistent with "all done".
I love how serious he is about his book in this picture!  Check out that face! :)
A couple cute stories -
The other day, I was cleaning his room and he was in there with me.  He got in his drawer that had his toiletries.  He pulled out the box of q-tips and attempted to "clean" his ears.  It was so cute that he knew exactly what to do with it!

The next day, I was getting ready in the bathroom and he was playing around on the floor.  He got tired of his own toys after a while and got in the cabinet where I keep my hair dryer and straightener.  He pulled them out one at a time and took them straight to the outlet where I plug them in and attempted to plug them into the wall.  Thankfully I was right there, otherwise he may have actually plugged them in!

He just picks up on EVERYTHING!  We are daily amazed at how much he "gets".

I know this is a fuzzy picture but he was having so much fun with mommy's sunglasses the other day!  He thought it was pretty great to be wearing them!

Last night, Eric and I (thanks to Ian and Leah!) got to go to Orlando for the evening and spend some time with Jon and Amy! It was so wonderful to see them and spend time with them! It had been SO long - way too long since we had seen them so it was not only refreshing to have a night out, but also great to spend it with them!

Jon (and the guys) put on a great concert....
And it was great to see Amy!  We also got to spend some time with the other band members and had a fun time with them too!

Isaiah has his 18 month appointment on Wednesday so hopefully I will be able to update again later this week with his stats!  I have been staying pretty busy lately with not only being a wife and a mommy and taking care of our house, but I have also been helping Eric in the office with business stuff.  And starting next week, we start another Bible study with people from church.  Eric has started a men's study every other Saturday morning with extensive reading and lots of learning about God's word!  He is super excited about learning so much but a bit overwhelmed with taking care of his family, maintaining a business and spending time in the Word.  We love our church and we are starting to really get involved and we are so thankful for that!  I just pray that we would have a healthy balance in our lives!  Thank you, Lord, for great friends and a wonderful church!  And thank you for our precious Isaiah.  We love him tremendously....

New Doc...

Eric and I went to meet the new doctor this morning and loved him! He has a wonderful bedside manner and he made me feel so comfortable. It was such a change for me to see a man as opposed to a woman. But, from what I've heard about him and what I experienced today, I feel like it is a good move for us!

Everything looked great with baby boy! His heart rate was around 140-ish. He was moving around a lot so it changed quite a bit but it sounded good and strong! My tummy is measuring about two weeks bigger than I really am so that makes me wonder if we'll have an early baby or just a big baby! :) I have said from the very beginning that I feel like this little boy will be bigger! I am just a bit anemic so he is putting me on iron pills but everything else looked great. I do not have gestational diabetes either so that is wonderful!

We have misplaced our camera battery charger and the battery is dead so unfortunately I cannot put any pictures up here but as soon as we get that issue resolved, rest assured I will put some belly pics and Isaiah pics on here for your viewing pleasure!

Hope everyone is having a great Monday so far! I know lots of people up north are enjoying a snowy Monday! We have a high of 70 today (which is warmer than what we have had) but back down to the 50's tomorrow.

Lots of love from all the Heuers...

The Heuer Group

I want to introduce a new blog on our sidebar. The Heuer Group (Eric and Ian's business) has started a blog for friends, family, and all others interested in what we are doing down here in Florida. We would love for you to check it frequently and leave us comments often!

This is also written on the new blog but we want to THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU for your love, prayers, support and encouragement. It has taken some time to get things up and running but the business is now operating in full force! We couldn't have made it this far without the coveted prayers and love from those who love us!

Check us out!!!!!

24 weeks

My appointment went well today. It was just a "questions with the nurse" appointment. I was hoping she would at least listen for the heart beat but no such luck. I got my order to do my glucose test so I should have the results for that when I meet with the doctor on the 23rd. I'm looking forward to meeting him as I have heard wonderful things about him from multiple women!

Baby boy continues to move around like crazy and it is rather uncomfortable at times. But, I am so comforted by those kicks and punches! :) Thank you, Jesus for the precious life within! I have been having quite a bit of ligament pain recently so that is slowing me down a bit but other than that, still feeling pretty well! I, of course am feeling pretty tired from my body "running a marathon" to grow this little boy and chasing around a very active toddler, but I wouldn't have it any other way!!!!!

It's only 8:10 p.m. but I am seriously considering crawling into bed once I finish this up. (And no one needs to know that I took a nap this afternoon! :)

Playing Catch-Up!

The end of our 2008 and the beginning of our 2009 have been very eventful and we haven't had much time to slow down!

Before I really get into everything, let me just say that I was not so great at taking pictures while we were in Indiana. I apologize for my lack of documentation!

First of all, Isaiah was a wonderful traveler on the 17th! There were some "red flags" I should have noticed but I was so excited about him sleeping during the entire flight, I failed to notice that he was getting really sick. We took him to the doctor the next day and sure enough, he had his very first ear infection! It really took a toll on his little body and took quite some time for him to fully recover. In fact, I'm not sure he really started acting completely like himself until we got back to Florida. Even though our time was amazing and we loved every moment up there, it was a little bit hard on his little body. But, we wouldn't trade our time up there for anything!!!!!

Because Isaiah was sick and because it was SO cold up there, we didn't venture out much for about a week. It was nice, though, to just relax at Mimi and Pop's house! Eric arrived in Indiana on Tuesday, the 23rd - actually, Wednesday morning at ONE A.M.!!! (Which happens to be the longest travel story I have ever known but I won't bore you all with the details!) Most importantly, he arrived safe and sound after a horrendous day of trying to get to us!

On Christmas Eve, we went to see Santa but he had already left to "fill the sleigh". So, we took some of our own pictures in his chair!

Looking at a book with Mimi and Pop!

Christmas morning was so wonderful! We woke up at my mom and dad's house, opened presents, had a great brunch together and simply enjoyed one another!

Opening presents from Auntie Jess and Uncle David!

Christmas morning with Daddy!

In the late afternoon, we went to be with my mom's side of the family in Illinois! We love the time we get to spend with each and every one of them!

This is my "Nana" with all of her GREAT-GRANDCHILDREN! There are currently 15 and two more on the way!

On the night of the 26th, we celebrated with my Nana Pat and Ed and it was a night I was really bad and forgot to even take my camera. We had a wonderful time with them and had a great Christmas celebration!
Isaiah with Mimi and Pop!

On the 27th, we headed up to Indy to celebrate with Eric's dad and his family. We gathered together at the Lantzer's house and enjoyed everyone there! I was also bad there and didn't take many pictures.
Opening presents from Grandma and Grandpa Lakey-Lake!

After leaving Indy, we went to spend some time at the Lake with Jim and Kathy. We just love being at the lake and it even snowed while we were there! It was so beautiful to see the snow fall on the lake!

We spent an afternoon in Kokomo with our dear friends, the Taflingers and Casey. I attempted to take pictures of Isaiah and Caleb together but it happened to be a day when Isaiah was completely out of sorts so the photo shoot did not go well! Thank you for hosting us that day! We love you all! P.S. Can't wait for baby Micah to make his big debut!!!

After leaving Jim and Kathy's house, we went to spend a couple days with some more dear friends, the Sommers! Not only did we get to ring in the New Year with them, but we also got to celebrate Lilly's first birthday! She is such a beauty and so much fun to be around! She and Isaiah were so cute together! They just kept patting each other's backs! :) Thank you, Sommers, for your friendship and for all you mean to us!

Isaiah taking a bath with Lilly!

We then headed to Muncie for our last night in Indiana. On our way, we stopped by the hospital to spend some time with several members of Eric's extended family. Eric's grandma was having surgery so many of them were gathered together for that. Even though it was during an uncertain time, we really enjoyed being with everyone! Eric's grandma came out of surgery well and is continuing to recover! We pray the Lord would bless her with an extremely speedy recovery and good health!

Our goodbye this time was very hard because of the extended amount of time we got to spend with everyone! My prayer for this year is that the Lord would (quickly!) and richly bless Eric and Ian in this venture so we can be closer to family sooner, rather than later! :) We are so very blessed with EVERY family member God has given us! Being so far away, makes us truly cherish the time we get to spend with each of them!
This is a shot I just took today. Isaiah has become very silly recently and loves to laugh!

Just in the past week or so, Isaiah has really come out of his shell! We are seeing this precious personality just BLOOM! He makes Eric and I laugh all the time and we are having the BEST time just loving him and watching him grow! We never knew we were capable of loving someone SO much! And it's crazy to think that before we know it, we'll have another precious boy to love like crazy! We are so excited these boys will have one another! We pray they are the best of friends!

I would say this has been long enough for now but I am hoping to have a new belly pic tomorrow with an update from my appointment. I am switching doctors and go to the new office tomorrow for the first time! I pray I feel peace and comfort at this new place with new doctors!

Thank you to each of you who prayed for our safe travels up north and back. It was an amazing Christmas/holiday season with our family and friends! We simply could not feel more blessed to have the friends and family that God has given us! We love you all so greatly!
