Beach and Zoo with Family

This past weekend, Eric's dad and stepmom were in town, as well as, Eric's sister Erin, her husband Jason and their kids Nick and Kate. We had a great time hanging out as a family and did some really fun things together! On Friday, we went to Fort Myers Beach for some play time! And on Saturday, we went to the Naples Zoo. Isaiah and Eric woke up on Friday morning with cold symptoms and it hit me on Saturday morning. Eric fought it off really quickly but Isaiah and I are still struggling. Yesterday morning, Isaiah and I both had fevers, which really stinks but hopefully soon we'll be on the up-side!

A little lion and a little lemon...

We had a great Halloween 2008! Isaiah was a little lion and boy was he cute! I was so afraid that he would be miserable in his costume but he really didn't seem to mind it at all! We have been working a lot on him saying "roar" because he has a toy lion that makes noise and we knew he would be a lion for Halloween. So, we have been saying "roar" a lot! In the car that night, on the way to trick-or-treat, I kept asking Isaiah, what does a lion say??? He just kept moo-ing! I guess that's his favorite animal noise right now! No luck with the roar!

We started out by going to a church fall festival! Both boys enjoyed walking around and looking at people but there wasn't a ton for them to do because of their age. We were able to do a couple things but mostly just looked around!

After the festival, we went with friends to trick-or-treat! We had a great time! Isaiah was really good even though it was past dinnertime! It was fun to take him out and spend time with friends!

Being silly in the car!

Is he cute or what???

His FIRST trick-or-treating EVER! :)

One of the cutest parts of the costume was the back, with the little tail! :)

So, you may be asking yourself, "why did she mention a lemon in the title?" Well, it's because Heuer Baby #2 is about the size of a lemon right now! That's right, we are expecting baby number TWO!!! We just had a Dr.'s appointment on Friday and everything looked great! I am about 14 weeks along and the heart rate was between 140-150! Our due date is April 29th, which would make our children about 21 months apart! WHEW - we will be busy! But we are so excited and cannot wait to have two precious bundles of joy! I have started to pop out a little earlier than I did last time but not a ton. I have actually felt the baby move several times also which is amazing and comforting! I have felt SO much better than I did when I was pregnant with Isaiah. I still have nausea but it's not nearly as intense as it was with him. I am so grateful for that! I have not been craving cheeseburgers like I did with Isaiah but I have had some other cravings. I went through a phase where I wanted Caesar Salads. I've wanted lemonade quite a bit, and also Mexican food! I have had that for my last three meals! :) We feel so blessed that God has given us another opportunity to love another child! We cannot wait to meet this precious angel! I will try to post some belly pics soon! In the meantime...we love you all and appreciate your prayers and support through this time!

15 Months

Well, we've been battling yet another sickness in this house. Isaiah really has been a pretty healthy little guy but he somehow got a little stomach virus and he has had some pretty bad diapers lately. The only reason I tell you that is to explain this first picture. There have been a few days during this whole ordeal when diaper changes have been horrendous! Isaiah is miserable because he is so raw and we are miserable because he is screaming so loud. It's awful! After these awful scenes, Isaiah just wants to cuddle and be rocked and held so here he is with daddy one evening. He wasn't sleeping, just cuddling!

Other than that, we've been great! Trying to keep healthy foods in Isaiah's system when he doesn't feel like eating has been a challenge but for the most part, that's been the biggest issue.

When he does eat though, he LOVES to feed himself! He smiles after every bite he puts in there with his fork!

We broke a record in Florida today for being the coolest this day has ever seen! We hit 64 and it was so delightful! We had the windows open and we were wearing our sweatshirts!

Isaiah continues to attempt more words. Yesterday he worked on banana a lot - it came out more like na-na though :) He will now tell you what a cow says and it is the cutest thing. It sounds like he just tasted something yummy...it's just "mmmm"! When he is babbling, he is making more and more different sounds!

Isaiah is completely off of the bottle now. When we went to Indiana, I forgot to pack it so we were just giving him his nighttime feeding in his sippy cup but now he's not even taking that! He's such a BIG boy!

I guess that's it for today....here are some recent pics for you to enjoy of our little angel!

Just hanging out in the driveway with nothing but a diaper on! :)

Isaiah is loving his blocks right now and almost enjoys throwing them more than he likes to build things with them!

We spent some time at the beach this past weekend, just the three of us! It was so nice to have some time where we could just enjoy each other and not have anywhere to get to or anyone else's schedule to follow! We were able to go for a walk and play for a good long while! Here are some of my favorite shots from that day!

I love this one! Eric's face is so priceless - he was laughing at how Isaiah was sinking in the sand when the waves would come up! He had to whisk Isaiah up pretty quickly so he wouldn't fall!

After being at the beach and getting very sandy, Isaiah needed to be cleaned off before we could do anything with him! So what better way to get the sand off than to use an outdoor shower! He LOVES it!

Getting rinsed real good!

I'll end with this precious picture of my two kids!

Fall Trip

Right after we got back from our California/Indiana trip, Isaiah got pretty sick. It started out with a really runny nose then a cough came and then a fever. It is just miserable to have a sick baby and to feel so helpless. We spent a LOT of time snuggling and rocking! There was one day that Isaiah would hardly eat anything and we were so desperate to get something in him that we tried a popsicle! He wasn't so crazy about how cold it was.
Look at those sick eyes :(

Isaiah has never been one to just fall asleep anywhere (except for when he was brand new!) He has always needed his bed but one day he felt so bad he fell asleep on Uncle Ian's chest. He ADORES his Uncle Ian!
Look how precious!

Isaiah and I just got back from a nice visit in Evansville! It was wonderful to be there and to experience Indiana in the fall! The trees were so beautiful and the weather was great! I would have liked for it to have been just a bit cooler but it was so nice! While we were there, Isaiah got his EIGHTH tooth and my Nana gave him a little haircut (my camera was dead that day so I didn't get any pictures). I was really bad about getting my camera out and taking pictures but I did get a few cute ones!

We also got to visit Evansville's Fall Festival! I hadn't been in a few years and it was fun to take my little boy! We were going to take him on the Merry-Go-Round but the line was too long and it was nap time for Isaiah! He did try a the breading on a corn dog and liked that and he liked my lemon shake-up too! We just couldn't be there and NOT have him try SOMETHING!

Thank you, Mimi and Pop, for taking such great care of us while we visited! We love being at your house and we love being with you!
P.S. Happy Birthday (yesterday) to my wonderful momma!!!!

VIDEOS!

Here are some cute videos! The first one, we took at the hotel right before my mom took Isaiah to Evansville (the day before we went to California!) I JUST LOVE that precious laugh!!!!

This second one is of Isaiah bouncing on Daddy's leg! He loves to make noise while he's bouncing!

And here is Isaiah doing some tricks....bringing daddy his hat and blowing Derby kisses! Such a big boy!

14 Months

On Saturday evening, we celebrated cousin Eli's first birthday. It's not for another week or so but his mommy and daddy wanted to celebrate in Indiana. So, we all got together and celebrated Eli's first year! I will let Eli's mommy post pictures on their page but I do have to post just one picture that is so sweet of the boys! They are so loving (most of the time!) towards each other and really are very fond of one another!
Here they are hugging!

Saturday was also Isaiah's 14 month birthday! :) He is getting so big so fast! He is a babbling machine and is really trying hard to repeat what we say! He's working so hard at saying things but they just don't come out they way they are supposed to! It's really cute! He also loves to tell us stories! It happens most often in the car but he'll just be back there a TALKING!!!! He continues to eat very well and drink his milk very well. We are down to just his bed time bottle and in reality, we could be done with that too, but mommy cherishes that time so much SHE is having a hard time letting that one go! Isaiah is very interested in how things work. He takes things apart and puts them back together a lot! He loves looking at books on HIS terms! If he gets the book and sits down to read it, he's very content. But, if we try to sit him on our laps and read to him, he's very squirmy! So, does he like books? YES, if it's his idea to read them! We are going through a bit of a fussy stage right now with Isaiah if he doesn't get his way. We're working to nip that one in the bud! He continues to be very much a loving little boy! He LOVES, LOVES to give kisses! He is still best buds with Derby and they love to play together! I often will hear Isaiah burst into laughter only to find him wrestling with Derby on the floor! He loves to pull things out of drawers and toys out of the toy box, but we are still working on PUTTING them back! Isaiah continues to be the joy of our lives! It has been so fun watching him change and grow and we couldn't be more proud that Isaiah has been given to us to raise! We just fall more in love with him everyday!
Cracking UP!

The Lake and Hilgers

After California and after Isaiah's time with Mimi and Pop, we headed to Grandma and Grandpa Lakey-Lake's for the weekend! We sure do love them and had a great time loving on them! Isaiah loves being at the lake and he loves driving the boat. This time he learned how to honk the horn on the boat and he wouldn't stop! Let's just say we did not have any relaxing boat rides! :) We also got to spend time with cousins Nick and Kate! It was great to be with them and we are looking forward to their visit down here next month!

Also while at the lake, we got a visit from our wonderful friends, the Sommers! WE LOVE THEM and were so glad they were able to come see us! Thank you Sommers!!!!
Isaiah and Lilly kept trying to hold hands! :)

Precious Lilly!

I also have to include this picture of Eric and Isaiah from our Lake Weekend! They both had on matching knee socks!

On Saturday morning, we headed to Hilger's Farm Market to experience their Fall Festival! There was so much to look at and enjoy! Isaiah LOVED the pumpkins!!! There was a petting zoo and Isaiah got to pet several bunnies, a chicken, and his favorite was a pot belly pig! He kept going for the pig's nose! (And speaking of nose, Isaiah discovered this weekend that he could PICK his own nose! - LOVELY!) He also got to ride on a miniature pony which he was NOT crazy about! He went down his first slide. He rode his first tricycle. And he LOVED to people watch! I think he gets that from his momma! One thing I really miss about Indiana is the changing of seasons. It was so fun to see the leaves changing colors and to see mums for sale and to see all the pumpkins everywhere! I LOVE FALL!!! Here are some pictures from our time at Hilger's!
