Fall Trip

Right after we got back from our California/Indiana trip, Isaiah got pretty sick. It started out with a really runny nose then a cough came and then a fever. It is just miserable to have a sick baby and to feel so helpless. We spent a LOT of time snuggling and rocking! There was one day that Isaiah would hardly eat anything and we were so desperate to get something in him that we tried a popsicle! He wasn't so crazy about how cold it was.
Look at those sick eyes :(

Isaiah has never been one to just fall asleep anywhere (except for when he was brand new!) He has always needed his bed but one day he felt so bad he fell asleep on Uncle Ian's chest. He ADORES his Uncle Ian!
Look how precious!

Isaiah and I just got back from a nice visit in Evansville! It was wonderful to be there and to experience Indiana in the fall! The trees were so beautiful and the weather was great! I would have liked for it to have been just a bit cooler but it was so nice! While we were there, Isaiah got his EIGHTH tooth and my Nana gave him a little haircut (my camera was dead that day so I didn't get any pictures). I was really bad about getting my camera out and taking pictures but I did get a few cute ones!

We also got to visit Evansville's Fall Festival! I hadn't been in a few years and it was fun to take my little boy! We were going to take him on the Merry-Go-Round but the line was too long and it was nap time for Isaiah! He did try a the breading on a corn dog and liked that and he liked my lemon shake-up too! We just couldn't be there and NOT have him try SOMETHING!

Thank you, Mimi and Pop, for taking such great care of us while we visited! We love being at your house and we love being with you!
P.S. Happy Birthday (yesterday) to my wonderful momma!!!!

VIDEOS!

Here are some cute videos! The first one, we took at the hotel right before my mom took Isaiah to Evansville (the day before we went to California!) I JUST LOVE that precious laugh!!!!

This second one is of Isaiah bouncing on Daddy's leg! He loves to make noise while he's bouncing!

And here is Isaiah doing some tricks....bringing daddy his hat and blowing Derby kisses! Such a big boy!

14 Months

On Saturday evening, we celebrated cousin Eli's first birthday. It's not for another week or so but his mommy and daddy wanted to celebrate in Indiana. So, we all got together and celebrated Eli's first year! I will let Eli's mommy post pictures on their page but I do have to post just one picture that is so sweet of the boys! They are so loving (most of the time!) towards each other and really are very fond of one another!
Here they are hugging!

Saturday was also Isaiah's 14 month birthday! :) He is getting so big so fast! He is a babbling machine and is really trying hard to repeat what we say! He's working so hard at saying things but they just don't come out they way they are supposed to! It's really cute! He also loves to tell us stories! It happens most often in the car but he'll just be back there a TALKING!!!! He continues to eat very well and drink his milk very well. We are down to just his bed time bottle and in reality, we could be done with that too, but mommy cherishes that time so much SHE is having a hard time letting that one go! Isaiah is very interested in how things work. He takes things apart and puts them back together a lot! He loves looking at books on HIS terms! If he gets the book and sits down to read it, he's very content. But, if we try to sit him on our laps and read to him, he's very squirmy! So, does he like books? YES, if it's his idea to read them! We are going through a bit of a fussy stage right now with Isaiah if he doesn't get his way. We're working to nip that one in the bud! He continues to be very much a loving little boy! He LOVES, LOVES to give kisses! He is still best buds with Derby and they love to play together! I often will hear Isaiah burst into laughter only to find him wrestling with Derby on the floor! He loves to pull things out of drawers and toys out of the toy box, but we are still working on PUTTING them back! Isaiah continues to be the joy of our lives! It has been so fun watching him change and grow and we couldn't be more proud that Isaiah has been given to us to raise! We just fall more in love with him everyday!
Cracking UP!

The Lake and Hilgers

After California and after Isaiah's time with Mimi and Pop, we headed to Grandma and Grandpa Lakey-Lake's for the weekend! We sure do love them and had a great time loving on them! Isaiah loves being at the lake and he loves driving the boat. This time he learned how to honk the horn on the boat and he wouldn't stop! Let's just say we did not have any relaxing boat rides! :) We also got to spend time with cousins Nick and Kate! It was great to be with them and we are looking forward to their visit down here next month!

Also while at the lake, we got a visit from our wonderful friends, the Sommers! WE LOVE THEM and were so glad they were able to come see us! Thank you Sommers!!!!
Isaiah and Lilly kept trying to hold hands! :)

Precious Lilly!

I also have to include this picture of Eric and Isaiah from our Lake Weekend! They both had on matching knee socks!

On Saturday morning, we headed to Hilger's Farm Market to experience their Fall Festival! There was so much to look at and enjoy! Isaiah LOVED the pumpkins!!! There was a petting zoo and Isaiah got to pet several bunnies, a chicken, and his favorite was a pot belly pig! He kept going for the pig's nose! (And speaking of nose, Isaiah discovered this weekend that he could PICK his own nose! - LOVELY!) He also got to ride on a miniature pony which he was NOT crazy about! He went down his first slide. He rode his first tricycle. And he LOVED to people watch! I think he gets that from his momma! One thing I really miss about Indiana is the changing of seasons. It was so fun to see the leaves changing colors and to see mums for sale and to see all the pumpkins everywhere! I LOVE FALL!!! Here are some pictures from our time at Hilger's!

Isaiah's time with Mimi and Pop

While Isaiah was with my parents in Evansville, he was a very busy little boy! He got to visit with several different friends and family members. He ate and slept very well! He played very hard, and was on his very best behavior! Some of the fun things he did included....
Going to the zoo...

Petting an Iguana...

Taking Baths and getting crazy hair...

Calling mommy and daddy lots and lots...

Lots of loving...

And lots of waving!!!

He even said, "ABCD" repeating after his toy one day!

Thank you so much to my mom and dad who took awesome care of our little man while we were gone! It was so nice to get away and spend time together as a couple and not worry one little bit about Isaiah. Now, don't get me wrong, we missed him like CRAZY!!!!!!!!! But we never even worried ONCE! Thank you, also, to Auntie Jess...she was also a huge help!

California

First of all, let me apologize for the delay in posting! I tried to update with some pictures the morning we left, but our Internet was down. We spent most of the morning today getting it back up and running so....here we go!

We left two Fridays ago to fly to Indiana. Eric's mom was having a birthday and a trip was planned to go to California with her husband and her kids to celebrate. After much deliberation and trying to decide what was best, we all came to the conclusion that it made the most sense to NOT take our babies with us. So, we sadly left Isaiah with my parents and sister for FIVE LOOOOOOOOOOOOONG days! I sobbed and sobbed as they drove off into the sunset. That first day was just awful. This was the very first time I had ever been away from my baby. I had never even spent a single night away from him in his whole life! It did get easier as time went on, but at first it was just heart-wrenching! I mean, come on...look at that face!

So, Saturday morning, off we went to California! We flew into San Francisco and spent less than 24 hours there but it was action-packed and fun-filled! Our first stop was a restaurant called, "Cliff House". It was a beautiful place with stunning views of the Pacific! After lunch, we went to check in at our hotel and get ready for our awesome night! We went to Teatro Zinzanni...look it up online and if you're ever in San Fran, it's a MUST SEE!!!! I won't go into major detail about it but I will say that my dear husband, who HATES being in front of large audiences, got chosen out of the crowd to assist in a little number! He had to DANCE ON A RAISED PLATFORM!!!!!!!! And, to add to the drama, the dancing involved pelvic thrusts!!!! He handled himself very well and survived the trauma! I have never heard Eric's brother laugh as hard as I did that night! This is not a very good picture but here we are all dressed up for the night!

Sunday morning, we left San Francisco after driving around a while and seeing the sights! We drove past Fisherman's Wharf, several In N Out Burger joints (and to my chagrin never stopped!), and we drove down Lombard Street (the most crooked street EVER!) Here's a view from the bottom looking up...

We also spent quite a bit of time driving across and admiring the Golden Gate Bridge! It is a massive and beautiful structure!!!

We arrived in Napa Valley on Sunday afternoon. We made our lunch reservations at Don Giovanni's (which just so happened to be everyone's favorite meal of the week!) And the setting only helped. The restaurant is right in between two vineyards with the mountains in the background! It was stunning!

After lunch, we stopped by one winery before heading on to our resort. We checked in a got ready for dinner, which was awesome! The restaurant we ate at that night was on top of a mountain looking down into the Valley! And then Monday began our Winery/Vineyard fest! We toured many neat little Winery's and window-shopped through a very cute, quaint little town. We had a wonderful time together but missed our boy tremendously!

We had the happiest reunion with him on Thursday morning! Eric and I both went in to get him out of bed and with a huge smile on his face he looked at us like, "hey, I know you two! Where have you been?" It was so awesome to hold him in our arms again and smell his sweet little head!

Cousins

I just love these pictures of the boys! They were trying out a new double stroller and loving it! They are just the cutest things to watch when they see each other. Especially if it's been a few days, they go crazy! They hug and kiss and love all over each other! It's just precious! I know they will be the bestest of friends for all of their lives! :)
