Four Months Old

First of all, I must apologize for not putting anything on here before now but please let me explain myself! We had our computer cleaned over Thanksgiving break and I've had a hard time getting everything back up and running. I'm still having a difficult time getting my digital camera to transfer pictures correctly and I'm really getting frustrated. Now I know some of you would rather me not even post on here if I don't have pictures to include but I felt like I needed to give an explanation!

Secondly, Isaiah was four months old on Tuesday. Weird to think how quickly time has gone but it has! And he is just so much fun! What a sweet personality he has! For the most part, he is very laid back and continues to be a great sleeper! He's now averaging 10-11 hours a night plus three naps a day that are around 1 1/2-2 hours each! The tricky part for me is just going to bed after he falls asleep for the night. I am so tempted to stay up and get things done or stay up to spend time with Eric. Nonetheless, we are so thankful that he's sleeping so well! Another little trick he's started recently is NOT taking a bottle! He only wants his mommy. Now as flattering as that is for me, it's a bit frustrating because it means I can't be far from him for very long so it's not looking like Eric and I will be able to go on any baby-free dates any time soon! That's ok though because we DO love him being around! :)

Well, unfortunately I can't include any four month or Thanksgiving pictures today. I promise I'll keep working on this and hopefully get it resolved very soon!
Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving! Ours was fantastic! We had a wonderful time in Southern Indiana/Southern Illinois with all of our friends and family! I'll try to post pictures as soon as I possibly can!
Love to you all!!!

Appointment and Friends

Well, we officially have a 16 week old baby boy! Can you believe that? As we often reflect back on the day he was born, we can hardly believe he's been around that long! And he's growing so quickly. It's such a cliche that they "grow in the blink of an eye" but boy oh boy is it true! And not only is he growing so fast, he's also turned into a very good nighttime sleeper. He's always loved to sleep (and we pray it stays that way!!!!) but he is now averaging 9-10 hours a night! Thank you Jesus! :)

OK, so we took him to the doctor yesterday for his four-month visit. It was a bit early but oh well! He weighed in at 13 1/2 pounds (our scale at home said 14 pounds but I suppose I should trust the doctor's scale a bit more!) and he measured 24 1/2 inches long! Just growin' like a weed! (I bet by the time he is officially 4 months old, he will be 14 pounds!) Everything checked out wonderful and Dr. Gollnick said, once again, that he is perfect! He also got two more shots yesterday so he was a bit ouchy last night!

Last night, we got to spend the evening with our dear friends Ashley and John Sommer! They are expecting sweet little Lilly soon and we all three cannot wait to meet her! We had such a fun time hanging out and catching up. It had been almost two months since we had seen them so they thought Isaiah looked pretty big! He wasn't quite himself since he had had his vaccines but he still flashed a few of his big gummy grins!

Here is our good little sleeper!

Isaiah has really been "entertaining" himself the past couple weeks. We can lay him on the floor on his fun play mat and he just coos and giggles and bats at the hanging toys! Eric and I get such a kick out of it because it sounds like he is just having the best conversation with someone! Luckily yesterday I was able to get it on camera so if I'm ever able to figure out how to put videos on here, I'll post it! The picture above is of him locked into something hanging above him!

He has also grown to LOVE his hands! If his pacifier is not in his mouth, his hands are! And he has been a slobbering fool! We could possibly see some teeth in the near future! We are going to have to keep a bib on him all the time if we don't want to constantly change his clothes! He's our precious little slobber box right now!

Here is Isaiah getting his diaper changed and thinking daddy is a pretty funny guy! If no one else can get Isaiah to smile, his sweet daddy can! Isaiah adores that man and so do I!

Here's Isaiah with Auntie Ash and Uncle John! Isaiah is trying to touch Ashley's belly so he can let Lilly know to get here soon and that he already loves her!

And here is John trying to give Isaiah hunting tips. From what I heard, today was opening day for gun season and John was telling Isaiah he saw a lot of deer, but not any big enough to shoot! He promised Isaiah he would take him out someday!
Sommer Family, we had a fantastic time at your house and we love you all so much! Tell that little Lilly we're ready to meet her but not to come TOO early!

A Fun Weekend with Family

Before I talk about our weekend, I just had to include a couple cute pictures of our Isaiah. It's been getting pretty chilly here in Indiana the past few days so Isaiah has had to wear his little hat! My sweet chiropractor made this hat especially for him and he wears it proudly!

Isaiah just LOVES his baths these days and I think he might be the cutest little ducky I've ever seen! He's just getting to be such a "chunker"!

OK, now about this weekend. My Mom, Aunt Mary Beth, Cousin Courtney, her daughter Sophie, and my Nana came to visit. Courtney had some continuing education classes in Indy this weekend so they all decided to come and make a fun trip out of it! We had so much fun the entire weekend! We went out to eat ( a lot!), visited Eric at his model homes, made homemade chicken noodle soup and fruit pizza and went to visit Jessica in Muncie. I love weekends when we all get to spend time together as a family and this was one of them!

Here is Sophie loving on Isaiah. She held him several times and one of those times came to a quick end when Isaiah filled his britches and Sophie decided that was disgusting and she didn't want to hold him anymore. Thankfully several of us were right there in case she let go!
Doesn't he look SO big!!!
And here is a picture to show how fascinated she was with Eric's height! He had her on his shoulders a good portion of the weekend! She thought it was so cool to be able to touch the ceiling! They had fun playing together!

I love my family! Thank you for such a GREAT weekend!!!!

Our Precious Pumpkin

OK, I realize I may be going a bit overboard with the pumpkin pictures here, but I just couldn't decide on which ones to put so I thought it would be best to put all of them! Well, not actually ALL of them because I took a ton but hey, it's his first Halloween costume and the first time only happens once, right?? :)

Already looking annoyed with mom and the camera!

How adorable is he????

Daddy and his "punkin"!

The stem hat did not last long!

Check out those cute legs!
Isaiah's cousin Eli also had a pumpkin costume for Halloween and we intended to get pictures of them together but they were not cooperative at the same time. Isaiah's best time is right after he eats so we put his costume on him at that point in the evening but that happened to be when Elijah was eating and by the time he was finished eating, Isaiah had had ENOUGH of that costume! So, even though they aren't together, we also wanted to post a picture of Eli in his costume. As you can clearly tell, he was NOT happy about it!

Home Sweet Home

Well, we are home from our great week with family. We visited Eric's brother, Ian, his wife Leah, and their new little boy, Elijah. They live in Ft. Myers, Florida so we had a fun week in the warm weather! Isaiah once again did a fabulous job traveling yesterday! We couldn't have been more proud of him! Thank you for your prayers for our safe travels. We definitely felt them! Here are some pictures to document our trip. I will try to update frequently with new pictures during this week! Enjoy! On the plane with dad!
