Week 25

Week 25
Baby's Length: 13.5 in.
Baby's Weight: 1.5 lbs
Baby's Size: Box of Tissues
Eric and I went back to the doctor on Tuesday evening and left with a GREAT report! Our Dr. said we have such a happy little boy. She said it's pretty unusual to have such a happy baby at this stage. It's typically not until 26-28 weeks that babies are so happy and active! So we felt really good about that! AND, I had absolutely NO contractions! Thank you, Jesus!

24 weeks!

Week 24
Baby's Length: 13 in.
Baby's Weight: 1.25 lbs.
Baby's Size: Carrot
Eric and I went in yesterday for our routine 24 week appointment. Our appointment was scheduled for 10:30 and it turned into a very long day! During the appointment, the doctor measured my belly and I was 24 cm, which she said was perfect, "24 cm at 24 weeks"! I had gained another pound also this past month. Typical weight gain at this point is around a pound a week. She wasn't concerned at all that it had only been one pound in one month. She said it's good that I'm gaining! She also used the Doppler to check the baby's heartbeat. She said he was moving around a lot and it was a bit hard to get an accurate heart rate so she sent me in for a non-stress test. We went over to the hospital for that (mainly because we wanted to see the new facility and all the machines were being used at her office). When they hooked me up to the machine, they noticed that I was contracting, which at 24 weeks is not very good! SO, they gave me a shot to stop the contractions and after a urine test, they determined I had an infection. So, they continued to monitor me for the rest of the afternoon. The doctor came in a little after five and reviewed all the testing. She said she thought the contracting was due to the infection and the heart rate looked really good. She said we had a very happy baby which is hard to tell at 24 weeks but our little boy is extremely happy! :) That was quite a relief to hear her say that! So, they sent me home with prescriptions for infection and told me to take it easy! I'm going back in on Tuesday to get the non-stress test again to monitor the little guy! Hopefully it won't take as long that time! Other than feeling a little groggy from the medicine, I'm doing very well and feeling good! Thank you for your prayers for us and our little man!
Dear Jesus,
You have not promised that we will be free of disease or infection or suffering in this world. You have promised, however, that You will be with us, caring for us in whatever circumstances we find ourselves. We trust you for strength for our baby and for us! Thank you Lord for your protection upon us! We love you!

Time With Friends

Last night Eric and I had the privilege of visiting our good friends Amy and Jon McLaughlin! We had such a great time. We went to Jon's concert in Muncie and loved seeing them! Jon is a very talented music artist and they're both good friends of ours! The Heuers love the McLaughlins! :)

Two Heuer Babies

No, I'm not having twins! There will be two Heuer grandbabies born this year! Eric's brother and his wife are also expecting so while in Florida, we documented the growth of our bellies through picture! Here I am with my sister-in-law Leah. I'm in my 24th week and she is in her 16th week.

Beach Time!

Eric and I got to go to Florida for our Spring Break and we were there during my 23rd week! So what better place to take a picture of my growing belly than the beach! :) I feel like I'm growing more and more each day and baby boy is moving more and more each day! We're to the point now where we can actually see his movements on the outside of my belly! We still like to feel them with our hands, but it is the neatest thing to just watch my belly pop out with movements! While we were down there, I got to have Italian Ice almost everyday and the baby LOVED that! He would move around like crazy after I ate some! Italian Ice is just another one of my slushy obsessions!

I am very pleased to report that I THINK I may be past the nauseous stage!!! YEAH!!!! I only had about a 24 hour period on our trip when I didn't feel well and I actually got sick but it only lasted a short time! I don't know if it's just Florida or if I really am feeling better! Now that we're back in Indiana, time will tell!

22
WEEKS!
It's hard to believe we're at 22 weeks already but here we are! Our little man is about the size of a piece of pizza, which is about 11 inches long and getting close to a pound! I feel him move everyday which is such a relief to me and Eric loves rubbing my belly and talking to him and feeling for him! We're so glad we found out the gender because it's really given Eric a chance to bond. It's so much easier for a mother to bond because we're the ones carrying the baby but to know it's a boy and to pray specifically for our growing boy has really bonded all of us together!
I've started to lay off the cheeseburgers lately and I've started wanting BLT's. Not sure what it is about that sandwich but they sound so good! I'm still taking in lots of slushy things! I love the ICEE's and stop at our local BP quite frequently! I'm now known in there as "little momma with the craving!"
We go back to the doctor in two weeks so we'll keep you posted with any new information we get! We're getting more and more excited by the day! We just can't wait to meet our precious boy!
Thank you Lord for this gift!
