Doctor and New Friend!

I'm sorry you can't see Isaiah's face in this picture but I wanted to display a shot of him doing his ab work! He loves lifting his legs!
Isaiah had his 4 week appointment yesterday and weighed in at 7 pounds 10 ounces! He's a growing boy! Once again the doctor was very pleased with his growth and reassured us that, YES, he IS perfect! We know he is but it's nice to hear it from other people as well! :)

Last night, Isaiah had the privilege of meeting his great new friend, Caleb! He had heard so much about him and what a wonderful family Caleb came from and was thrilled to finally meet Caleb (and his pretty mommy, Lisa!)! Caleb's daddy, Travis, was able to come visit Isaiah in the hospital but since Caleb was so new when Isaiah was born, he hadn't met Lisa or Caleb yet and what a treat it was! Isaiah also enjoyed being held by Travis again! He thinks Travis is a pretty funny guy!
We once again had a fabulous time with our great friends, the Taflingers, and look forward to many more fun times!!!

Week Three

This first picture was not taken in Isaiah's third week of life but I had to include it on the blog because it's just too precious not to share it! This was the picture taken in the hospital of Isaiah and his daddy! Isn't he perfect??

As you can see, Isaiah is still sleeping A LOT, and really likes his "passy"! (I know, I know, it's almost as big as his head but he loves it!) I really cannot complain too much about our nights...I usually feed him around 10:30-11, 2:30-3, and 6:30-7. Not too bad for a newborn! I'm trying to rest as much as possible during the days while still doing things around the house. It is difficult to do it all! :)

And I just have to take a moment to brag on Eric! He is an INCREDIBLE father! He absolutely adores his little boy and I'm so grateful for all he does to help. He is the one who goes to work each day but he is still so helpful when he is at home. I am gladly the one who gets up in the night to feed Isaiah but I know Eric would help if I needed him! It is such an amazing thing to experience the love you feel for your child and I must say, I do love my husband more and more when I see him with our son. My mom always told me I would never understand the love she felt for me until I had a child of my own and boy was she right! (Yes mom, you were right!) It is absolutely overwhelming! We love this little boy so much and we are so thankful that the Lord has blessed us with such a HUGE responsibility in raising him to be a man of God! Our prayer is that we would continue to have the strength to show him what it means to follow Jesus!

TWO WEEKS!!!

Isaiah had his two week check up today and we are thrilled to report we have a 7 pounder! He has gained a full pound since we left the hospital!!! YEAH!!! His doctor was extremely pleased with his growth and says he looks awesome! She was so reassuring to us, as parents, that we are doing a good job! Eric and I felt good leaving there that we are helping our precious boy grow and develop! We know we couldn't do this without the help of our God!

Bath Time and Sleepy Time!

Well, we are getting adjusted here at home. Our sweet baby Isaiah is awesome! We are loving every minute with him. He's even pretty good during the night. He just likes to squeak and grunt a lot but not much crying, which we are so thankful for! Here are some pictures from the last couple days at home. He LOVES to sleep!!!! Especially with daddy!

First bath at home! Didn't care for it too much!

Isaiah went to the doctor on Tuesday to get his weight and size checked and we were all so pleased to find out that he had gained FIVE whole ounces since leaving the hospital! Obviously things are going well with his feedings! My milk came in quickly so he's a happy boy!

We're all just loving life right now! And we love you all...

7/27/07

What a whirlwind weekend! Isaiah James Heuer has arrived! Eric and I went to our appointment on Friday morning and had an ultrasound. Everything looked great! Fluids were great and baby looked great! So then we went to see the doctor. When she checked me I was already 4 cm. and I was having contractions so after checking with the hospital to make sure there was room for us, Dr. Voelkel sent us home to get our bags and told us to come back to be induced! WHOA!!! What a shocker that was for us! We were not expecting that at all but we were more than excited! So we ran out of there like chickens with our heads cut off trying to get everything together and in order to go have a baby! We checked into the hospital about 12:30 in the afternoon and the Pitocin started about 2:00. I progressed very well throughout the day and went through about three hours of pretty strong contractions before receiving an epidural. After the epidural, she broke my water and then things really went fast. I only pushed for an hour and Isaiah made his entrance at 10:31 p.m.

He weighed 6 pounds 6 ounces and was 20 inches long. He is absolutely perfect! Eric and I find ourselves just staring at him and taking him in! It was the most incredible experience for us to bring him into this world together. We have always had a great friendship/relationship but it definitely feels much stronger now that we have gone through this miracle together! And what a miracle our Isaiah is to us! The love we feel is overwhelmingly incredible and it's eye-opening to realize that the love we feel for him is not even close the the love that our Lord feels for us! Thank you Jesus for the precious, precious baby boy! And thank you to all of our family and friends who have prayed for and supported us through this time! Thank you for your continued prayers as we go through this transition time! It's time for anther feeding so I need to get going but I will do my best to post pictures frequently of our growing angel baby!
