Some Random Stuff

Here are just a few pictures that are a bit random!

Isaiah was a little toy this past weekend for my mom and sister. They thought it would be funny to put Uncle David's hat on Isaiah. He is clearly not amused! :) He's looking a bit like a deer in headlights!

This picture was taken right before Isaiah ate some veggies...mommy was not moving fast enough so the tray started to look pretty tasty!

This is after some very good peas! Yummo! Isaiah likes peas pretty well as long as they aren't too thick!

And speaking of thick...check out those kankles! :)

And back by popular demand, here's another video! This one I shot myself while feeding Isaiah cereal. Sorry my voice is so loud and annoying in this video. My mouth was pretty close to the speaker! Let me add one little detail though about Isaiah's feeding time. He often gets pretty squirmy and bored so Eric and I have to be very entertaining while we feed him. We have to sing and dance and act pretty ridiculous just to keep him engaged in what he's supposed to be doing. SO...because of that, we have made up songs and borrowed songs from other people. This one I'm singing is one that my sister sings to him so I thought I'd give it a shot...he thinks it's pretty funny!

These are a few of my favorite things...

Well our baby is six months old today. UNBELIEVABLE! I truly cannot believe how fast time flies with a little one. I honestly feel like I just brought him home from the hospital and here we are celebrating six months of life. Where has a half a year gone? In that six months, I have completely fallen in love with everything about my son. He has brought an unexplainable amount of joy to our lives and we are forever grateful for that. I just want to share a few of those things that I love so much about Isaiah James!
*His smile that melts my heart
*The serious look he gets on his face when he's focused on something
*His smell
*The noise he makes while he's nursing that sounds like YUM
*The way he kicks and splashes in the bathtub
*The way he gets his feet and legs moving when he's excited about something
*Our time together in the morning after I feed him and he's so smiley
*The way he lights up when his daddy walks in a room
*The way he reaches for his doggy
*The little noise he makes that sounds like Woody Woodpecker
*His precious giggles
*The way he sticks his tongue out when he's playing
*How much he loves to lay on his daddy's chest

What an awesome gift Isaiah is and our prayer is that we never take for granted what the Lord has blessed us with. We also continue to pray that we would raise this boy into a young man that truly has a heart for God. We often sit and wonder what we did before Isaiah came along. We had a wonderful marriage full of fun and adventure but this little angel has brought so much more fun and adventure than we ever could have imagined! Thank you, Jesus, for this life and for this love. It is teaching us more every day how much you love us and we know it's not even a fraction of the way you feel about us!

We love you more than words can describe Isaiah James...

First Basketball Game and Check-Up

Last night Isaiah went to his very first basketball game and loved it! Our great friend Jeff Clark is the assistant coach for Indiana Wesleyan University so we went to see them play at Taylor. Jeff did a great job and helped coach his team to victory! Yay Wildcats! Isaiah was very intrigued by all the noises and sights and loved watching the ball go up and down the court! His daddy is convinced he will be quite the baller!

Isaiah flirting with all the girls!

Isaiah getting loved on by Jeff's pretty wife, Tiffany!

On another note, Isaiah went for his 6 month check up today and everything checked out great! He is plumping up quite nicely and she thought he looked wonderful! He tipped the scales at 16 pounds, 4 ounces and he was 25 1/2 inches long!

In this top picture, I was able to capture one of Isaiah's new tricks...a back bend! He loves leaning back to reach for things!

I think I can, I think I can!

Isaiah is such a happy boy! He is rarely fussy or upset and when he does get upset, he's not really a cryer. He's more of a whiner at this point but we'll nip that in the bud as he gets older! He continues to do well with his cereal and with nursing. He is a great eater overall and an excellent sleeper! He went 12 1/2 hours last night and then took a huge 2 hour nap right after that! Must be going through a growth spurt! We're still waiting on those two bottom teeth to pop through. We have to constantly keep a bib on and he's ALWAYS putting things in his mouth! Shouldn't be too much longer! We hope you're all well and we love you all!

Bath and Friends

I do believe that aside from nursing, bath time is Isaiah's favorite thing to do! In fact, last night, Eric said to me, "I think bath time is giving you a run for your money!" Isaiah LOVES to be in the water and kick and splash around! He is just so happy in the water. So, maybe we have the next Michael Phelps on our hands! Here's a couple shots...take note of the "long" hair on top of his head! It's growing!!!

Uh oh! Did I make those bubbles in the water?!

I feel so good in the bath tub!

Last week we got to spend a couple days with our great friends the Sommers! Their precious little Lilly was about two and a half weeks old when we were there and she is just so tiny. It's so hard to believe that Isaiah was once so small. He is so big and healthy and for that we are so thankful but it sure was fun to hold that little girl and reminisce about how small our boy once was! We were able to get a lot of pictures with them lying side by side so hopefully you can tell what a difference there is between the two of them! We love John, Ashley and Lilly and LOVE the time we get to spend with them!

Mom, do I HAVE to lay down by this girl?

I guess it's not so bad after all. I'll just hold her hand!

All she ever does is sleep but I think I like her!

Best Buds and Birthday

Isaiah has become VERY aware of the 'doggy' in the house! And I'm pretty sure Derby likes all of the attention! When Derby comes near, Isaiah is constantly wanting his hands near Derby and thinks it is the funniest thing when Derby licks him! Mommy doesn't think that's so funny when it's Isaiah's face!!! Here are some cute pictures I captured the other night while Daddy and Isaiah were playing!

Oooo doggy!
Hey, you're soft!
You are hilarious, Derby!

On Saturday, we got to celebrate cousin Nick's first birthday! It took Nick a few minutes to warm up to the idea of cake but once he got into it, he really got into it! The party was fun and it was great to be with family! Happy Birthday Nick!!!Yeah, I love cake!

Not so sure about ice cream, though!
MMM!!! SO good!!! I DO like it!

We're all glad that Uncle Eric didn't do this right after he ate his cake!

MMMM...I like these momma!
Happy baby boy!
I think I'm done with these for tonight!
